Ladies in Film & Television (LIFT) empowers women to rise, lead, and thrive in the film and media industry. We champion diversity, equity, and creative expression by providing opportunities for women to build careers, businesses, and legacies through film, storytelling, and the arts.
"Turning Stories into Stages, and Dreams into Reality"
Our vision is to shape a more inclusive and equitable film industry where women—supported by their male allies and communities—are fully represented, fairly compensated, and fearlessly creative. Through mentorship, leadership development, and strategic partnerships, we work to break barriers, influence industry standards, and amplify voices that reflect the beauty and diversity of our world.
Founded on January 30, 2009, as Headline Mentors & Performing Arts, and rebranded in Fall 2019 as Ladies in Film & Television (LIFT), our organization stands as an industry leader in shattering gender inequalities in film and media.

Ladies in Film & Television (LIFT) is a nonprofit organization committed to advancing economic development and workforce inclusion within the creative arts industry. Based in Texas, we support independent filmmakers and behind-the-scenes professionals—particularly women and underrepresented creatives—by providing access to training, resources, networking, and recognition through events like the Texas Indie Filmmaker Awards.
As a catalyst for local job creation, LIFT helps develop tangible opportunities for actors, writers, directors, producers, hairstylists, makeup artists, set designers, photographers, and others. Many of these professionals are freelancers or small business owners who depend on a thriving independent production ecosystem to sustain their livelihoods.
We believe that storytelling is not only art—it is economic empowerment. As Texas continues to rise as a competitive hub for independent filmmaking, LIFT proudly contributes to a creative economy that fuels innovation, education, and inclusive growth.
